The Best Gaming and Office Chairs at IFA 2026—And Why The LiberNovo Maxis Stood Out

At a show traditionally dominated by televisions, laptops and smart-home technology, chairs emerged as an unexpected category at IFA 2026. Across the Berlin show floor, brands presented a new generation of seating designed for people who move fluidly between work, gaming, creating and relaxing.

The broader trend was clear: the familiar racing-style gaming chair is giving way to more sophisticated ergonomic designs. Breathable materials, dynamic back support, greater adjustability and designs tailored to different body types all took center stage.

Among a strong field, however, the LiberNovo Maxis Series made a big impression.

LiberNovo Maxis addresses a gap the chair industry has overlooked

Many “big and tall” chairs begin with a conventional office-chair design that is simply enlarged and reinforced. LiberNovo took a more thoughtful route with Maxis, developing the chair around the proportions, pressure patterns and support requirements of taller and broader users.

Designed for people from 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 7 inches and supporting up to 399 pounds, Maxis offers more than additional room. Its extended 52-centimeter seat depth provides better support beneath longer legs, while the wider cushion gives users space to shift positions naturally.

The cushion itself uses multiple foam densities: firmer toward the rear to support the sitting bones and softer at the front to reduce pressure beneath the thighs. A reinforced frame, aluminum-alloy base and highly adjustable armrests complete a design intended for long working days, gaming sessions and creative projects.

This purpose-built approach attracted significant attention at IFA. The Maxis Series was featured in Gadget Flow’s selection of notable products from IFA 2026 and also received a Techlicious Spotlight Award, placing it among the products that technology media considered especially noteworthy on the show floor. Techlicious highlighted the fact that LiberNovo engineered Maxis from the ground up instead of merely scaling up a standard chair.

Three Maxis models offer different levels of support

LiberNovo presented Maxis in three configurations, allowing buyers to choose how much technology they want in their chair. Each chair is specifically designed for those that are big & tall, with extra seat depth and full lumber support.

The Maxis Manual provides adjustable lumbar depth through a physical control, offering the core ergonomic design in a straightforward package.

The Maxis Electric adds motorized lumbar adjustment and OmniStretch, a button-operated function that guides the back through a supported stretch. This gives users an easy way to change posture and reset during extended periods at a desk.

At the top of the range, the Maxis Airflow adds active seat ventilation. A fan moves air through channels inside the cushion, helping manage heat during long workdays or demanding gaming sessions.

All three versions provide five supported recline positions ranging from 105 to 160 degrees. Progressive springs maintain support as the chair moves from focused desk work toward a more relaxed posture.

That combination of size-specific engineering, movement and comfort technology made Maxis one of IFA’s most complete responses to the realities of all-day sitting.

LiberNovo’s wider range also earned official IFA recognition

Maxis may have led LiberNovo’s exhibit, but it was not the company’s only award-recognized chair in Berlin.

The LiberNovo Omni Pro Dynamic Ergonomic Chair was named an official IFA Innovation Awards Honoree in two categories: Best in Tech for Good & Accessibility and Best in Design. The official IFA awards listing confirms the Omni Pro’s inclusion in both categories.

Omni Pro combines motorized lumbar adjustment, a backrest designed to follow changes in posture, OmniStretch and active ventilation. LiberNovo also displayed the manually adjusted Omni SE, providing a more accessible entry into the company’s dynamic-ergonomics concept.

Taken together, the honors created an impressive showing for LiberNovo: media recognition for the new Maxis Series and official IFA recognition for the Omni Pro. More importantly, both product families supported the same idea—that a chair should adapt to its user instead of forcing the user into one fixed “correct” position.

Other chairs that caught attention at IFA

LiberNovo was not alone in pushing office and gaming seating in a more inclusive direction.

The ARBREST COVE made its global debut as an ergonomic chair designed around women’s body proportions.

HUANUO introduced its own Big & Tall Chair, featuring a 24.4-inch-wide seat, a thick foam-and-spring cushion and a claimed maximum capacity of 500 pounds.

AndaSeat, a familiar gaming-chair name, previewed its new Ergo Series office chair and brought it established Kaiser 3 and Kaiser 4 gaming models to Berlin.

Finally, Homrelexa added new colors and finishes to its Big and Tall Office Chair which has an unusual pet-friendly side pad giving it a more casual, lounge-like character than the performance-oriented models elsewhere at the show.

The gaming chair is growing up

IFA 2026 suggested that the boundary between a gaming chair and an office chair is quickly disappearing. People increasingly use the same desk for meetings, focused work, streaming, gaming and entertainment. Seating is beginning to reflect that reality.

The most interesting chairs at the show were therefore not the ones with the loudest colors or the most aggressive styling. They were the models designed around movement, different body types and sustained everyday comfort.

LiberNovo Maxis captured that shift especially well. Its awards and media attention were valuable endorsements, but its real achievement was more fundamental: it recognized that larger users deserve a chair engineered specifically for them, not simply a bigger version of somebody else’s seat.

In a year filled with ambitious ergonomic concepts, that clarity of purpose helped make the LiberNovo Maxis Series one of IFA 2026’s most memorable products.
